Listening to music on vinyl takes a bit more time, patience, and equipment but it’s worth it: better sound quality, amazing artwork, and you’ll enjoy albums in the way the artists originally intended (no skipping!)

Pros:

  • Better sound quality than music stored on mp3 files
  • More durable than CDs
  • They can be enjoyed for their original purpose
  • It’s easy!
  • Relatively inexpensive
  • There are record shops in most urban areas
  • They look good – many are collected for their artwork
  • Nostalgic
  • It’s satisfying building up a collection

Cons:

  • They take up a lot of space
  • Requires a lot of equipment
  • You need patience (no skipping songs!)
  • Do not expect them to gain much value
