Natural objects are easy to collect because they can be found everywhere: shells, fossils, rocks, feathers, pine cones – there are thousands of things that people collect. Just make sure you have permission to do it!
Pros:
- Free (if found)
- Most natural objects are inexpensive
- Most are small and easy to store
- Good mementos of a trip
- It’s easy!
- It’s satisfying building up a collection
Cons:
- You can never ‘finish’ collecting
- Some collections can get quite heavy!
- Most have no value (with the exception of fossils)
- Removing natural objects may damage natural ecosystems
