Pub quizzes are a relatively recent tradition (1970s), and they proved extremely popular during the first Covid-19 lockdown. Music, sports, film & TV, geography or just general knowledge, there’s a round for everyone.
Pros:
- Social – in fact, it’s easier the more friends/family you have
- Most pubs have a quiz night (and many social clubs do too)
- Usually comes with alcohol!
- Suitable for all ages
- Low cost
- You’re not looking at a screen (unless you’re cheating)
- Not reliant on the weather
- Improves your memory and general knowledge
- Always some good team names
Cons:
- Someone is always cheating!
- Requires a group of players
- There is always one team taking it too seriously
- It’s hard to be motivated if quizzes are too difficult
