One of the most popular sports in the UK, badminton is not weather dependant, and can be enjoyed at any age.

Pros:

  • Not dependant on the British weather
  • Simple rules / easy to learn
  • Relatively inexpensive
  • Good all-round workout
  • Non-impact sport
  • Suitable for all ages
  • Improves flexibility, balance, agility and speed
  • Fitness: good for building muscle endurance & strength
  • Boosts self-discipline, motivation, self-esteem and confidence
  • It’s social

Cons:

  • Requires an opponent (hard to practice alone)
  • Requires access to a badminton court
  • Can be practised at home (in the garden) unless it’s windy
  • Minor risk of injuries (quick changes in direction)
  • Taller people have an advantage
