- Can promote the countryside (increasing tourism)
- ‘Walked-up’ shoots are often environmentally sustainable (small numbers of birds)
Cons:
- Can be an expensive hobby
- Animal rights
- Managed land replaces otherwise ‘natural’ environment
- ‘Driven’ shoots involving masses of birds are unsustainable
