‘Gooze’, an old word meaning ‘to stare’ was once used by canal workers to describe people watching them as they worked. Nowadays, those of us who have ‘gone goozling’ are enjoying watching the goings-on of life on the canal.

- No ‘goals’ or ‘tallying’ like bird watching, trainspotting or plane spotting
