Bird Watching

Bird watching is suitable for all age groups and can be enjoyed just about anywhere – but it helps if you live near a nature reserve. It only requires patience, quietness and a good guide book.

Pros:

  • Gets you out into nature
  • Supportive and knowledgeable community
  • Good online resources
  • It can take up as much or as little time as you want
  • Varies season to season
  • Relaxing
  • Can be enjoyed at any age

Cons:

  • Requires a lot of patience
  • Learning all the bird species (and their calls) takes a long time
  • Living near a nature reserve makes the hobby easier
