Bouldering

One of the fastest growing fitness sports, bouldering is essentially rock climbing without the ropes. Although it started outdoors (on boulders), bouldering is now a common sight in indoor climbing gyms all around the country.

Pros:

  • Only climbing shoes are needed (no ropes or harnesses)
  • Safer than outdoor climbing

  • Can be enjoyed all year round

Cons:

  • Requires patience and determination
  • Slight risk of injuries
  • The rough texture of handholds can cause hand injuries when starting out
  • There will always be someone better than you!
